At the recent leadership dinner, the keynote speaker, Mr Jat Sew Tong, SBS, SC, JP, Senior Counsel, has captivated participating JC Scholars with his inspiring life journey and heartfelt reflections on leadership in an increasing complex world. 

Titled "The Importance of Being Earnest (Non-satirical Edition 2025)", Mr Jat has explored what it truly means to live and lead with purpose. He posed a thought-provoking question to participants: "What roles can The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholars play in our fast-changing world?".  He emphasised the importance of contributing to society and striving to make Hong Kong a better place—rather than solely pursuing personal ambitions.  He introduced three aspects of being earnest: faith and integrity, courage and perseverance, and compassion and sincerity.  Together, these virtues can create driving force, energy, vitality, and dynamism that inspire and empower one to pursue one's life goals in earnest.

The evening also featured a lively fireside chat, where Mr Jat engaged in candid conversations on a wide range of topics, including artificial intelligence, education, and career development.  These exchanges equipped JC Scholars with real-world insights and supported their growth as future compassionate leaders.
